She squealed with delight as a flock of ducks gathered around us. Harper’s eyes sparkled as she watched the funny animals waddle to and fro while carrying on in noisy duck chatter. The one year old quickly took on the persona of the Pied Piper as she stood over the group, pointing and calling to every one of her duck followers. “Do you see what I’m doing here?” was her expression as she glanced back at us for approval of her diligent duck-herding. Once the the ducks were sufficiently obedient, Harper moved on to more important tasks like collecting sticks, cracking the code on a pinwheel, and getting in on some giggles with mommy. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a fall morning. I just love those facial expression!
