This ceremony was special not only to these newlyweds, but also to me. Eleven years ago, my husband and I chose this same kind of ceremony. Suggested by his mom during our college Spring Break, my husband and I got hitched at the JP. I savored every moment of it and still look back fondly (wishing I had a photographer there) … which brings me to the marriage ceremony of Mark (the farmer) and Shirley, his lovely new bride. So intimate! I love how they incorporated their children into their private ceremony. Dylan was the ring bearer and Addie brought smiles. Though not a typical wedding, the same feelings persist. There were tears of joy and a palpable bond of love felt around them as we all left the courthouse together. Afterwards, we rendezvoused back at their homestead to catch a few family shots.
