B-Family! Temple Family Photography

What a great family session! Stephen, Kristy (some might think we’re twins… in a “you kinda look like her” way), and their ADORABLE son hung out with me on a this crisp Saturday morning. Drew is the cutest little one year old ever! Those amazing blue eyes and gregarious personality definitely make him the center of attention everywhere he goes! What a cutie-pie! His laugh is absolutely contagious and had us all giggling. I had such a fun time with these three and hope they enjoy the results of our morning together as much as I do:-)Thank you Family B!

McKenzie – Waco Newborn Photography

This sweet little girl is the most wide-awake newborn I have ever met! I did not expect her to greet me with smiles and big bright eyes! {So cute} McKenzie’s parents are so delightful and calm, despite a rather non-sleepy baby. The apparent joy this precious girl gives them just makes my heart melt! The interactions between them are absolutely heart warming… although, it may be up to debate which of the three wins best dressed. I must say, McKenzie’s wardrobe is fit for a princess–complete with an entire drawer full of tutus! We dressed her up in hair-flair, pearls, adorable little outfits, and even put her in her daddy’s cowboy hat. Thank you Herman, Mindy, and of course, baby McKenzie for such a great session:-)

Five-inch heels, three dresses, a guitar, unbelievable winds and nearly freezing temperature sum up this photo shoot. Luckily, I am with Daisy–a beautiful girl with a bubbly personality and a penchant for shopping. She recounted her 5am Black Friday shopping spree as we attempted to warm ourselves in between location shoots. “It wasn’t that bad,” Daisy laughed, “it was actually kind of peaceful.” Definitely not the descriptive word I think of when I hear “Black Friday door-buster deals,” but apparently in Waco, it really isn’t that bad. I also learned a rule of thumb from the young fashionista: buy the shoes first, and you’ll eventually find something to wear with them. Words to live by. During the shoot, we roamed around with Daisy’s guitar and a blanket (which Daisy used to warm herself between shooting and I used as a giant scarf while shooting–cozy!) in search of the perfect backdrop, periodically dodging cars and avoiding the awkward glances from strangers. Despite freezing temperatures (or, at least that’s what it felt like to us) and super high winds, I had a blast with Daisy and love the results of our afternoon together! Hope you have a fabulous birthday:-)

Little Miss Leah the Diva! She definitely has a personality… even at 2 weeks old! As I’ve said before, patience is the key with newborns–I will win the waiting game! In the running for most difficult model, Leah finally redeemed herself in the last minutes as she slipped into a deep sleep. Weighing in at over 9 lbs, this girl gave me quite the show! Calm one second and a wreck the next. Her momma must have fed her 10 times to calm her! She was too large (in a good way) for any baskets I had, but she nestled right in to her Mimi’s jumbo basket. I just love the chunky babies! Leah capitalized on her girly-ness with fun headpieces and real pearls (family heirlooms).  She is super adorable and there was no way I was missing out on photographing her–worth the wait! Congratulations Lizz and Luke on having the cutest little baby girl! Special thanks to Betsi (a.k.a. Mimi) for inviting me into your home to capture this precious moment.

Oh, this was such a fun shoot!! It takes much patience to do a newborn session… now multiply by two! Fortunately, I had my trusty sidekick, Suzie, there to help (this would have been an all day affair without her!). Since the moment I arrived at their home, Claire was ready for her photo shoot. She was sound asleep in her milk-induced coma and was ready for her close up. Her younger, yet larger, brother wanted to be the life (and sound) of the party and was a little difficult to coax into nap time–yes, there may be just a tad more photos of your sister than there are of you, but you are still adorable, Mr. Camden. Their birth story is incredible and Sarah, you are definitely a hero in my book! We’re talking full-on, heavy duty labor–no epidural, no nurse, and no doctor. She gives birth to Claire on the delivery bed with Daddy (the only other person in the room) standing in shock. Seconds later, the delivery room is swarming with a medical team. Four minutes later, Camden arrives. Two perfectly healthy, wonderful little babies. Special Thanks to the awesome parents, Grant and Sarah (who knitted those cute little hats!) for letting us invade your home and ever-so-gently play with your bambinos:-)
