Ranch Good Days

After months of back and forth emails and phone calls, I finally lay my eyes on the ten horses that bring comfort and hope to many teen girls. Dr. Donna Otabachian, director of Ranch Good Days, has been relentlessly searching for a way to help troubled youth, especially female teens. Upon research, she realized there was no place for teen girls to go for help. Dr. Donna created Ranch Good Days as a home of love, education, and comfort for at-risk teens. Through Equine Assisted Therapy, Dr. Donna provides teens with the skills and opportunities to become productive and successful women in society. I was delighted to spend the morning with Dr. Donna, her daughter and their beautiful horses. It was warm day (as Texas usually is) and the horses were a bit shy, but I did manage to capture a couple faces and intriguing spots on the ranch.

The shy ones…

and the not-so-shy ones…

and then, there was the ranch…

Georgetown Wedding Photography

I had the absolute honor to shoot with a fellow photog at a beautiful wedding down at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown. I was tasked with shooting the Groom and his entourage–so much fun! Every wedding, the groom plays second fiddle to his stunningly gorgeous bride (as was the case here), but with his own photographer, this groom took center stage in my lens. Of course, I couldn’t resist capturing all the little moments in between, too. My favorites–the dress and boots (Love! Who needs high heels when you’ve got perfectly comfortable boots?); the hanger script was sooo cute! (Here’s a how-to on creating your own); the groom stealing a kiss from his bride before they walked down the isle; the expressions on the the groom’s brothers’ faces as they watched him recite his wedding vows; the flowers were flawless and the rings were to die for! Congratulations R & K–your wedding was perfect! Special Thanks to my new friend, Melody, who let me tag along:-)

A moment

The best thing about a photo is that it never changes even when the person in it does.

Cookies for Kylie

I love telling stories with photos! Yesterday, Kylie and I spent some quality mother-daughter bonding time over cookies and milk. As you can tell from the first photo, she was pretty excited to hear we had cookies on hand. After that first cookie, I couldn’t hide the rest (from her or myself). I’m not sure exactly how many we ate, but let’s just say, there are no more cookies left to hide:-)
